About this opportunity

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking to procure a Cranio Maxillofacial Plating System and related items through a procurement opportunity posted on May 6, 2025, with responses due by May 28, 2025. The procurement is being conducted under a Premier contract (#PPOR1668) that allows the hospital to purchase commodities from a consortium without a formal competitive process, leveraging pricing advantages. The contract will cover the period from May 29, 2025, to October 31, 2025, with potential for two additional one-year renewals contingent on GPO renewal. Vendors selling equivalent products are invited to contact the procurement officer, with strict adherence required to NYS Finance Law 139 j&k (Lobbying Law). Potential contractors must be prepared to complete and submit comprehensive documentation, including Vendor Responsibility forms, NYS Tax Law Section 5-a compliance, and current NYS Workers' Compensation and Disability Forms. The procurement specifically targets medical equipment for cranio maxillofacial surgical applications, focusing on a specialized plating system from Stryker or equivalent manufacturers.

The procurement opportunity is not designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside, which means broad participation is permitted. The solicitation is geographically focused on Suffolk County, New York, and involves purchasing medical equipment through an existing consortium contract. Stryker Cranio Maxillofacial has been identified as a business entity awarded an identical or substantially similar contract within the past five years, suggesting they are a likely incumbent or preferred vendor. While specific award values are not disclosed, the procurement appears to be for specialized medical equipment with potentially significant budget implications. Vendors must carefully follow procurement guidelines, with potential consequences for non-compliance ranging from contract disqualification to potential debarment from sales to New York State agencies. The procurement process emphasizes vendor responsibility, legal compliance, and adherence to established procurement protocols.
