About this opportunity
The Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency for the City and County of Denver is requesting proposals for a Community Tree Planting Initiative with proposals due August 27, 2026, featuring a 14% MWBE participation requirement that must be met with certified firms or demonstrated through sufficient good faith effort under Denver Revised Municipal Code Article V, Chapter 28.
The scope encompasses equitable community outreach and recruitment, tree procurement, tree planting expertise and logistics management, and tree establishment care support, education, and health tracking over a three-year establishment period. The initiative supports the Park Hill Action Plan, Near Northeast Neighborhood Planning Initiative, and Denver Urban Forestry Strategic Plan. Proposers must demonstrate relevant experience across all functional areas.
The contract value is $6 million over a five-year term from the date of contract execution. Place of performance spans Denver City and Denver County.
Required insurance includes Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability Insurance, Commercial General Liability, and Business Automobile Liability. The City does not negotiate insurance requirements or contract language; objections not raised formally during selection are waived.
A pre-proposal meeting was held June 11, 2026 via Microsoft Teams. Final questions are due August 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time, with the City issuing responses by August 14, 2026.
