About this opportunity

The New York State Education Department is soliciting applications for the Charter-District School Collaborative Grant, a federal subgrant under the Charter Schools Program (Title IV, Part C, ESEA), with applications due August 14, 2026. Eligibility is restricted to cross-sector partnerships comprising one New York State charter school and one New York State traditional public school district.

The grant supports structured, time-bound partnerships designed to implement focused strategies that improve outcomes for educationally disadvantaged students. Each partnership must select one Performance Focus Area, propose two to three measurable goals, and deliver at least one student-facing deliverable—defined as a tangible service, intervention, or instructional experience directly provided to students during the grant period. Partnerships must also participate in NYSED/TAP-supported implementation activities and produce practical tools or resources adaptable by other schools statewide.

The project period runs January 1, 2027 through June 30, 2028. Applicants should demonstrate in the proposal narrative, work plan, budget, and Memorandum of Understanding that the partnership has clear focus, defined roles, a feasible implementation plan, and readiness to begin within 60 to 90 days of award. Applications are submitted through P-12 Funding Opportunities and must be submitted by the eligible charter school entity on behalf of the partnership.
