Opportunity text
The intent of this solicitation is to award a one-time spot buy to restore a deteriorating Chiller Tower #2, Type B.A.C. Model VT1- 1125P to assure effective safe, reliable and efficient operation of the interior structural integrity. This project will address the corrosion, scaling or biological growth within the tower to minimize downtime and bring the unit back up to code and safety standards. The current fill media and panels are in very poor condition. The fill media is breaking down and clogging the tubes on the chiller condenser. This causes restrictions to flow through the tubes, blocking the heat that is removed from the wear that provides cooling to the entire prison. This project includes vendor completing proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) and draining of chiller tower, removal of the PVC drift eliminators (a total of 3 cells), removal of PVC fill media, pressure cleaning interior tower and protect interior with several aluminum coatings (specify what type is being used). Supply and install new fill media in tower. Reinstall new drift eliminators that will be provided by facility. Remove/Replace all PVC nozzles and O rings also being provided by facility. Refill chiller tower and conduct startup. Vendor will provide dumpsters for removal and disposal of old fill media and other debris; as well as, ensuring work area is cleaned of all trash debris upon completion of project. All pricing for labor, travel and subcontracted work (if necessary) will be included in the final bid amount. No additional fees will be paid after contract award.
