About this opportunity

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is soliciting bids on miscellaneous big bus parts with a bid due date of August 12, 2026 (today). Eligibility is restricted to original equipment manufacturers, authorized OEM dealers, approved resellers, subcontractors, or OEM-authorized agents.

OCTA will award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder with available inventory. The award may be split among multiple bidders based on overall benefit to OCTA. All freight and delivery costs must be included in bid prices. Bidders must state the manufacturer's name and complete the warranty section, including start-of-warranty checkbox; failure to do so renders the line item non-responsive. Brand names and model numbers serve as requirement standards; if bidding an alternative brand, the item must obtain OCTA approved-equal status prior to bidding. Approved equals require pre-submission through OCTA's approval process with fully supported technical data. OCTA reserves sole judgment over equality, substitutability, and compatibility of proposed alternates. Bidders bear the burden of proof and must furnish all supporting information at no cost to OCTA.

Warranty terms influence award results alongside price. Bidders must provide both their separate warranty obligations and a pass-through genuine new parts manufacturer or supplier warranty; the bidder is responsible for both. The source does not identify specific line items, estimated contract value, contract term, or incumbent contractor.

To provide goods described in this solicitation, bidder must be the original equipment manufacturer, authorized dealer or approved reseller, subcontractor, agent authorized by the OEM.

Please provide your best price, warranty terms, and lead time. The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) will award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder with available inventory. All freight costs and/or delivery costs are to be included in the Bidder's price.

Bidder must state manufacturer's name and complete warranty section including start of warranty checkbox. Brand name and model number, when used, are for the purposes of identifying a standard of requirement. IF NOT STATED, LINE ITEM MAY BE FOUND NON-RESPONSIVE.

To obtain approved equal status the item must be pre-approved by going through the approved equal process and providing fully supported technical data attached to an Approved Equal Form. Once OCTA has reviewed and tested the data, and if the part is accepted as an approved equal, Bidder may bid using that item in future solicitations. The burden of proof as to the equality, substitutability, and compatibility of proposed alternates or equals shall be upon the bidder, who shall furnish all necessary information at no cost to OCTA. OCTA shall be the sole judge as to the equality, substitutability, and compatibility of proposed alternates or equals.

Bidder shall, in addition to its separate warranties and obligations, provide a pass-through genuine new parts manufacturer and/or supplied parts warranty. Bidder shall be responsible for both separate and pass-through warranties. OCTA has the right to verify authorized dealership or distributorship status. Failure to comply with the stated warranty requirements will result in returned merchandise at the Bidder's expense.

When awarded to a vendor an emailed purchase order will follow. The vendor must reply to the Buyer's request, "Please confirm receipt of this order" PER EMAIL for the purchase order within twenty-four hours. Bidder must comply with Guaranteed Delivery due date as specified for each line item awarded. Failure to meet these requirements may result in cancellation of the purchase order and re-procurement charges.
