About this opportunity

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is soliciting bids for miscellaneous big-bus parts with a due date of July 20, 2026 (same-day posting and deadline). Bidders must be original equipment manufacturers, authorized dealers, approved resellers, or OEM-authorized agents; brand-name and model-number specifications are enforceable as standards of requirement, and bids omitting manufacturer name or warranty details will be found non-responsive.

OCTA will award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder with available inventory; award may be split among bidders based on overall benefit to OCTA. Bidders proposing alternatives or equals to specified brands must obtain OCTA-approved-equal status before bidding, requiring pre-approval through submission of fully supported technical data and an Approved Equal Form; OCTA is the sole judge of equality, substitutability, and compatibility, and the bidder bears the burden of proof at no cost to OCTA. Best warranty terms may influence award results.

All freight and delivery costs must be included in the bid price. Bidders must state the manufacturer name, provide complete warranty section details including warranty-start checkbox, and furnish pass-through genuine new parts manufacturer and/or supplier warranties in addition to separate bidder warranties. The bidder is responsible for both separate and pass-through warranties.

No estimated contract value, contract term, performance location specifications, evaluation criteria weighting, or Q&A timeline is provided in the source material. The compressed same-day posting and deadline creates minimal opportunity for clarification or alternate-approval processing prior to submission.

Once OCTA has reviewed and tested the data, and if the part is accepted as an approved equal, Bidder may bid using that item in future solicitations. The burden of proof as to the equality, substitutability, and compatibility of proposed alternates or equals shall be upon the bidder, who shall furnish all necessary information at no cost to OCTA. OCTA shall be the sole judge as to the equality, substitutability, and compatibility of proposed alternates or equals.

Bidder shall, in addition to its separate warranties and obligations, provide a pass-through genuine new parts manufacturer and/or supplied parts warranty.
