About this opportunity

The U.S. Coast Guard is soliciting bids for the replacement of forty-seven fire-rated doors at Building 24/26, U.S. Coast Guard Base Alameda on Coast Guard Island, Alameda, California, under a Total Small Business Set-Aside (NAICS 238290, Other Building Equipment Contractors), with proposals due August 7, 2026.

This is a restricted procurement — only small businesses qualify. The scope covers removal and replacement of all forty-seven commercial wood fire-rated doors, frames, hardware, and locksets; installation of BEST-compatible locksets (SFIC or Small Format Interchangeable Core); site coordination and cleanup; and full restoration. All doors must meet applicable fire codes and USCG fire-marshal requirements. The government will furnish the forty-seven BEST cores; the contractor bears all costs for transportation of equipment and materials. Work must be completed within 60 days of award, performed Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no more than one building section affected at any time to minimize operational disruption.

All contractor personnel requiring base access must pass background checks and submit personnel information fourteen days before project start, with approved names and birthdates provided at least seventy-two hours before mobilization. All personnel must carry Real ID-compliant identification (U.S. passport, federal PIV card, or TWIC card). All work must comply with USCG Safety and Environmental Health Manual (COMDTINST M5100.47), OSHA regulations, and applicable NFPA fire-door codes. Key submittals — product details, fire-rating certifications, and project schedule — are due within ten business days of award. The USCG Contracting Officer's Representative grants final acceptance upon inspection confirming completion, technical and safety compliance, and site restoration.
