Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 162 is requesting sealed bids on hardscape and softscape construction at Arabella on the Prairie Section 7 & 8, with bids due September 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. local time and public opening via Microsoft Teams. Bidders may submit separate bids for hardscape only, softscape only, or a combined proposal.
The hardscape scope includes sidewalks, sidewalk with torn-down edge, culvert crossing, site furnishing, and grading. The softscape scope encompasses planting and irrigation. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the Contract Price, plus a one-year Maintenance Bond for 100% of the cost of construction improvements. All surety companies must hold a minimum A.M. Best Key Rating of "B+" or better and be authorized to bond in Texas.
All bidders must submit a completed Texas Ethics Commission Form 1295 with their bid; the contract will not be awarded without it. The District is exempt from Texas sales and use taxes and contractors must pass on cost savings for exempt items. Prevailing wage requirements under Texas Government Code Chapter 2258 apply; minimum rates are specified in the contract documents.
Bidding documents are available for free download at www.CivcastUSA.com. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was scheduled remotely on September 2, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. local time.
