About this opportunity
Fort Bend County is requesting bids for design and construction of the Amandera E2 & M8 Amenity Basin Landscape project in Richmond, Texas, with proposals due August 12, 2026. The project, developed by Taylor Morrison of Texas, Inc., encompasses complete landscape installation of Basin M8, including grading, hardscape, irrigation systems, and planting.
Scope includes concrete trails (5, 6, and 8 feet wide), concrete bands, flagstone pavers, Ashton stone blocks for seating, and Monoline backed benches. The irrigation system uses a Rain Bird ESPLXIVM/PRO controller with 240 stations and two-wire capability, incorporating pop-up sprinklers, rotor heads, quick coupler valves, and drip irrigation. Planting encompasses proposed trees, ornamental trees, solid sod bermuda grass, and native seed mixes for uplands, coastal prairie, wetland fringe, and slope areas, with 3 inches of pine straw mulch in reforestation zones. The contractor must comply with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations, ADA requirements, and minimum drainage gradients of 0.5 percent for subsurface lines, 1 percent on paved surfaces, and 2 percent on lawns.
Water service is available through a 2-inch Badger water meter providing 69.4 gallons per minute at 55 PSI static pressure. The contractor must locate and protect existing utilities, hand-excavate and compact under existing tree driplines, coordinate with utility and pipeline easements (requiring 48-hour advance notice to Texas One-Call at 811), and obtain all necessary permits prior to work commencement. Installation specifications mandate Schedule 40 PVC conduit for electrical service, Schedule 80 PVC for irrigation laterals, and purple PVC pipe for all irrigation piping with purple snap caps on pop-up sprinklers. Existing tree maintenance operations are high priority and directed by the arborist. Final grading requires landscape architect approval a minimum of 48 hours before hardscape and planting work begins. The design was prepared by SWA Group as landscape architect with M2M Irrigation Design providing irrigation design services (Job Number TMTT507, issued for bid July 31, 2026).
