About this opportunity

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is soliciting bids for after-hours janitorial services at its Redwood City field office (300 Brewster Avenue, Redwood City, CA 94063) under a Small Business set-aside, with bids due July 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a mandatory pre-bid conference on July 16 at 2:00 p.m.

This solicitation is restricted to California Department of General Services-certified Small Businesses. Janitors must be compensated at a minimum hourly rate of $38.93 under Government Code Section 19134. Bidders must be DIR-registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations and comply with the Displaced Janitor Opportunity Act and Property Service Workers Protection Act.

The scope covers comprehensive janitorial services across approximately 10,072 square feet, including daily high-touch surface cleaning and disinfection, restroom maintenance, floor care, carpet cleaning, and specialized quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance tasks. Services are performed Monday through Friday after DMV business hours (excluding state holidays), with completion required at least one hour before the next business day opens. The contractor provides all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel.

The contract term is thirty-six months, with a proposed start date of September 1, 2026 or upon contract approval. No renewal options are stated. No contract value is disclosed. All bids must be submitted via email to DMVBIDS@dmv.ca.gov in non-fillable PDF format not exceeding 100 megabytes. Required bid documents include the Bid/Bidder Certification Sheet, Cost Sheet, Payee Data Record, Bidder Declaration & Subcontractor/Supplier List, Darfur Contracting Act certification, and California Civil Rights Laws Certification.
