About this opportunity
The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is requesting bids for the removal and replacement of two garage doors at its Access Maintenance Facility in Cincinnati under IFB #110-2026, with proposals due September 14, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. EST. The contractor must be a certified Raynor vendor/installer — a sole-source specification that filters eligibility. The project is federally funded by the Federal Transit Administration, triggering Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements, Buy America provisions for steel and iron products, and 100 percent performance and payment bonding.
The scope includes demolition of two existing doors and installation of two Raynor Duracoil insulated rolling doors (14 feet wide × 13 feet 7 inches high, gray, with 100,000 high-cycle springs) and two Raynor ONYX jackshaft operators (120 volts with battery backup). Work must commence within ten calendar days of Notice to Proceed and proceed every business day between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with no missed days without owner approval. Each door must be completed sequentially before work on the next door begins. All training and certification are included.
Pricing must be submitted as firm-fixed-price, valid for a minimum of 120 days, with a detailed cost breakdown by labor category, materials with markups, and equipment. A non-mandatory pre-proposal site visit is scheduled for September 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Questions are due September 8, 2026 at 2:30 p.m., with responses by September 11. Required documents include proof of current Raynor certification, insurance certificates (workers' compensation, general liability $1 million per occurrence, automobile $1 million per occurrence, crime $1 million, and professional liability $1 million), prevailing wage documentation, debarment certification, and a Personal Property Tax Affidavit. The contract term is upon completion with no specified renewal. Award will be made to the responsible bidder with the lowest responsive offer.
