About this opportunity

The Alaska Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Facilities Management Office, Design and Construction is soliciting bids for construction services to provide foundations and electrical power connections for two mobile ARMAG weapons cleaning stations at Building 49000 (the Armory) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, with bids due October 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Alaska Time and a mandatory walk-through on October 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

The scope requires construction of foundations and separate 100-amp electrical service connections for each of the two ARMAG units. The project carries no communications systems, security, intrusion detection, or fire alarm system requirements. Place of performance is JBER, Alaska 99505.

The ITB encourages prospective bidders to consider local hiring and to access qualified workers through the Alaska Labor Exchange (ALEXsys) database operated by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development; this language signals a local-workforce preference rather than a mandatory set-aside. Late bids will be rejected. Prospective bidders are advised to pre-register for the October 1 walk-through and to contact the project manager in writing via email at mvafmocontracts@alaska.gov to receive notification of date or time changes and to ensure receipt of all future amendments and addenda. Addendum 1, posted September 29, 2026, clarified electrical service requirements in response to vendor questions. All questions must be submitted in writing to Jonathan Comfort, Project Manager, at Jonathan.comfort@alaska.gov or (907) 428-7697.
