About this opportunity

Fayette County, Georgia, in partnership with the City of Fayetteville, is requesting qualifications for engineering and design services on the Woodland Link Multi-Use Path Project under RFQ 27032-Q, with statements of qualification due September 30, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. The prime consultant must hold GDOT prequalification in Area Classes 3.01, 3.02, and 3.13; the overall team must maintain additional prequalifications across environmental, design, survey, traffic, and construction-related disciplines.

The scope encompasses concept development, environmental documentation, preliminary and final plan preparation, right-of-way acquisition services, geotechnical investigations, and construction engineering oversight for approximately 1.8 miles of multi-use paths connecting Spring Hill Elementary School to the Ridge Nature Area. The project is part of a larger 3.4-mile Safe Routes to School initiative and carries GDOT Project ID 0021591. Work is anticipated to remain in effect through the preliminary engineering phase with potential extension to construction engineering and inspection activities.

Compensation will be determined through post-selection negotiation and may take the form of lump sum, cost-plus fixed fee, cost-per-unit-of-work, or specific rate arrangements. Funding sources include federal assistance with mandatory compliance under Federal Highway Administration guidelines, the Federal Civil Rights Act Title VI, and applicable federal regulations. The contractor must maintain comprehensive insurance: general liability and automobile liability at $1,000,000 each, professional liability at $2,000,000, and workers' compensation as required. Fayette County reserves the right to terminate negotiations with the highest-ranked firm and proceed with subsequent-ranked finalists if fee and term agreements cannot be reached. Notifications to selected finalists for Phase II technical approach submissions will follow at a later date. Contact Sherry White at swhite@fayettecountyga.gov with questions.
