Work includes removal and disposal of existing materials, soil scarification to 12 inches in compacted areas, backfill with certified weed-free topsoil meeting pH 5.5–7.0 and organic matter 4.0–7.0% by dry weight, and planting of Grade #1 or better native species including Southern Live Oak, Cabbage Palmetto, Bird of Paradise, Chaste Tree, Pink Muhly, and Dwarf Fakahatchee Grass with specified quantities across three landscape layout sheets. Contractors must maintain all landscape material including mowing, pruning, and weeding until approval by the landscape architect; provide 12-month warranties on all trees, palms, shrubs, and groundcovers; and comply with FDOT standards, ANSI Z133.1 tree care standards, and International Society of Arboriculture best management practices. Trees must be planted minimum 7.5 feet from underground utility centerlines; palms at grade without covering root balls; and mulching specified at 2–3 inches of pine straw with no more than 1 inch over root ball surfaces. Contractors are responsible for obtaining applicable tree removal permits.
