About this opportunity
The Pennsylvania Game Commission, Bureau of Wildlife Management is soliciting electronic bids for a specialized herbicide application project located at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County. The procurement focuses on a mechanical herbicide treatment of approximately 102 total acres in the Bobwhite Quail Focus Area, requiring a track-mounted mechanized mist sprayer capable of applying specific pre-emergence herbicides (Prodiamine and Imazapic) at precise rates of 36 oz per acre of Proclipse and 1 oz per acre of Plateau. Contractors must possess the capability to pass a federal background check for facility access and provide all necessary labor, superintendence, tools, and equipment to complete the operation. The project has a strict completion deadline of April 15, 2020, with specific application dates to be mutually determined by the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the selected contractor. Bidders must be prepared to have their equipment inspected and performance tested, with the Game Commission reserving the right to reject any equipment deemed inadequate for the job.
The solicitation does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor participation, nor does it identify incumbent vendors or provide specific budget ranges for the project. The procurement appears to be an open competitive bid without explicit limitations on contractor types. While the exact award value is not disclosed, the project involves comprehensive herbicide application services across two separate land units, suggesting a specialized environmental management contract. The Game Commission indicates that the actual volume of spraying will be contingent upon fund availability, which implies potential variability in the contract's scope. No specific evaluation criteria beyond equipment capability and federal background check clearance are explicitly outlined in the available documentation.
