About this opportunity
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is requesting bids for new and used trailers for transporting equipment and materials across Ohio under ITB 146-27, with bids due September 17, 2026. ODOT will award to all responsive bidders pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 5513.02, and the contract includes cooperative purchasing provisions for Political Subdivisions, state universities and colleges, the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, and other state agencies.
Bidders may submit pricing for both new and used equipment. All new equipment must be brand new from the factory, representing the latest current model with manufacturer's latest engineering changes and standard equipment unless otherwise specified. Used equipment on a vendor's inventory sheet may be sold at any time and may not remain available to ODOT; ODOT will inspect all used equipment prior to purchase. Vendors must comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and specific lighting and wiring standards detailed in Attachment A.
Delivery must be completed within 150 calendar days of receipt of a valid Purchase Order to any of ODOT's twelve Districts and eighty-eight county destination locations throughout Ohio, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All deliveries are F.O.B. Destination, with the awarded vendor responsible for arranging transportation. Net unit bid prices must include all installation, assembly, labor, inspection costs, and delivery charges to specified destinations.
The contract term is twelve months from the Date of Award, with ODOT reserving the right to unilaterally extend for up to one additional calendar month at original unit bid prices. Price increases are not permitted for the first sixty days after bid opening; thereafter, written requests with supporting documentation are subject to ODOT approval. ODOT is guaranteed full benefit of any price reductions for undelivered purchase orders, and vendors must notify ODOT within thirty days if products are sold to similarly situated customers at lower prices. All awarded vendors must register with the Ohio Shared Services Office for an OAKS Vendor Identification Number and complete Ohio Secretary of State registration if applicable. Bid responses must be submitted electronically through OhioBuys.
