About this opportunity
The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons, through the National Institute of Corrections, is seeking a cooperative agreement continuation award for the Correctional Communication Administrator Training program (CFDA 16.601). This opportunity focuses on the development and delivery of comprehensive training initiatives, seminars, workshops, and curriculum resources designed to enhance professional capabilities of correctional personnel and other criminal justice professionals. Eligible applicants include states, general units of local government, public and private agencies, educational institutions, organizations, and individuals actively involved in correctional programs and services. Key requirements include submission of a Standard Form 424–Federal Assistance application, maintenance of complete records on federal fund receipt and disposition for at least three years following final financial report submission, and compliance with OMB Circular requirements. The proposal deadline is May 11, 2026, with applicants subject to full fiscal and program audits at project closeout and on-site inspections as needed throughout the agreement period.
This continuation award is structured for a 12-month performance period, with typical award amounts ranging from $100,000 to $250,000, depending on project scope and deliverables. The training delivery is expected to utilize both virtual instructor-led and in-person formats to maximize accessibility, with performance locations spanning federal, state, and local correctional facilities nationwide. All funds must be expended within 90 days after the agreement ending date, and recipients will receive funds advanced as required throughout the project period.
