Summary of Correctional Case Management for Jails Cooperative Agreement
This announcement represents a continuation of Cooperative Agreement award 24JD11GLS1 administered by the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons through the National Institute of Corrections (NIC). The federal agency is seeking to fund the development and delivery of specialized training initiatives, seminars, workshops, and curriculum resources designed to enhance professional capabilities of correctional personnel and other criminal justice professionals involved in jail and correctional case management. Recipients must be states, local government units, public and private agencies, educational institutions, or organizations actively involved in correctional program development, implementation, or operations. Applicants are required to submit formal proposals on Standard Form 424—Federal Assistance and will be subject to full fiscal and program audits at project closeout as well as on-site inspections throughout the agreement period. The deadline for submission is May 5, 2026, with appeals available to the NIC Director. Cooperative agreement recipients must maintain complete records on federal fund receipt and disposition for a minimum of three years following submission of the final financial report.
Recent awards under this corrections training program have ranged from $75,000 to $275,000, with typical award amounts between $100,000 and $250,000 for 12-month project periods and potential for multi-year extensions and supplemental non-competitive funding. Training delivery is expected to occur across various geographical locations throughout the United States utilizing both remote and in-person formats to maximize accessibility and organizational impact. Funds are advanced as required and must be expended within 90 days following the ending date of the cooperative agreement, with processing typically requiring approximately 90 days from formal application submission to award notification.
