Forecast text

The Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force Training Command, Marine Air Ground Combat

Center (MAGTFTC/MCAGCC) is located in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. The

installation’s approximately 1,100 square miles of open desert provides the necessary land and

airspace to conduct service-level, realistic live- fire and maneuver training to support combat

readiness of Marine Corps operating forces. The Combat Center is the only Marine Corps

installation in the world with adequate land and airspace to conduct exercises that meet scalable

Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) requirements for simultaneous maneuvering in close

coordination, utilizing air and ground live-fire elements in the same way a MAGTF would

operate in combat. To achieve and sustain the highest levels of readiness and preserve mission

effectiveness, the installation maintains a Range Sustainability Program and actively safeguards

against a variety of potential internal and external encroachment challenges that could potentially

affect overall resilience, effectiveness, and sustainability.

The Mission of the MAGTFTC Training Directorate (MTD) requires a comprehensive and

integrated program of services and range training components across the training continuum to

enable operating forces to continue to achieve and sustain combat readiness. Sustainment of the

unique training environment and mission requirements, ranges, airfields, and other training

facilities at MAGTFTC/MCAGCC, and the ability to accommodate current and future weapons

systems, are dependent upon the Marine Corps’ diligence in executing long-range programs

intended to prevent and mitigate a variety of range sustainability threats. Typical range

sustainability issues at the installation derive from compliance with federal, state, and local

environmental regulations, and incompatible development that may conflict with modernized

training operations. Such issues may be associated with urban growth, noise effects, air quality,

natural and climate factors, safety and security, airspace, water quality standards, and biological

mitigation. The MTD has a requirement to continuously evaluate current training requirements,

challenges to training areas, and develop plans to address these concerns.

To support MTD’s capability to effectively meet the above requirements, this task order will

provide MAGTFTC/MCAGCC with programmatic plans, cloud-based information sharing and

improved business process coordination and management capabilities, logistics management and

documentation, and other support to identify and resolve existing and anticipated challenges to

integrated training operations, and to provide recommendations on courses of action to help

prevent, mitigate, repair or recover from factors that may impact training, readiness, and range

sustainability.
