Indian Affairs (IA), Office of Facilities, Property, and Safety Management, Division of Safety and Risk Management, requires continued contractor support for its Safety Management System (SMS). The SMS is used across the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), and other IA programs to track safety performance, manage risk, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Option Year 4 on the existing contract will be exercised to maintain uninterrupted operation of the current SMS. Under this extension, the contractor will sustain and enhance the IA Safety Connect platform; deliver training; support program evaluations; perform internal control and code compliance reviews; and provide both onsite and remote technical assistance. These services ensure the system remains functional, secure, and aligned with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001 standards while operating within Department of the Interior (DOI) infrastructure.

The work supports IA leadership and field programs by improving management system information, updating system structures to reflect organizational changes, and delivering consistent tools, dashboards, and evaluation methods that strengthen oversight and accountability.

Continued contractor support helps IA avoid costly disruptions, maintain efficient operations, and uphold Administration priorities for safety, cost control, and data-driven decision-making across its mission areas.
