About this forecast
The Food and Drug Administration is procuring a biosafety cabinet to replace existing laboratory equipment in response to new Institutional Biosafety Committee protocols requiring all human blood experiments to be conducted within a biosafety cabinet rather than a chemical fume hood or acrylic chamber. The estimated solicitation release date is June 1, 2027, with an estimated award date of July 1, 2027.
The estimated award value ranges from $10,000 to $25,000. Performance will occur at the FDA's hemolysis blood lab. Inquiries should be directed to cdhracquisitions@fda.hhs.gov.
Forecast text
cap equip replacement: Per new IBC feedback, all experiments involving human blood need to be conducted within a biosafety cabinet (BSC) rather than a chemical fume hood or acrylic chamber. The hemolysis blood lab does not have a BSC, only a chemical fume hood. To be compliant with the new protocols, we are requesting funding to put in a new BSC.
