About this forecast
The Food and Drug Administration is forecasting a new requirement to address an air handling shortfall at the New York Health and Human Life Sciences Campus (NYHAFL). This project involves converting the air flow system on the 3rd Floor Microbiology Branch from positive pressure to negative pressure to accommodate pathogen handling operations, along with updates to air pressure monitoring systems and controls. The solicitation is estimated to be released on May 1, 2026, with an anticipated award date of September 1, 2026.
The estimated award value ranges from $25,000 to $250,000 under NAICS code 561790 (Other Services to Buildings and Dwellings). The project encompasses air rebalancing, installation of updated pressure monitoring systems and controls, and removal of existing HEPA filters at each radial diffuser. The work is being coordinated by AKF engineers with input from multiple internal stakeholders including the Office of Facilities Management and Services (OFMS), NYHAFL, NYMPL, and HINES Building Management, with inquiries directed to the FDA Acquisition Liaison at hfpacquisitions@fda.hhs.gov.
