About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting market research for the procurement of NSN 4820-004370022 (Valve, Shuttle) under a Firm Fixed Price Contract. This is a sources sought notice intended for informational and planning purposes only, not a formal solicitation, and is designed to assess the availability and capability of qualified suppliers in the Industrial Valve Manufacturing sector (NAICS 332911). Interested vendors must complete the attached market survey questionnaire and submit their responses to William Cooley at William.cooley@dla.mil by 4:00 p.m. EST on May 7, 2026. The questionnaire requests critical information including company size classification, pricing data for an estimated quantity of 199 units, production lead times and capacity, delivery timelines, and ability to meet specific testing and certification requirements. While no formal evaluation criteria are specified at this pre-solicitation stage, the government will use supplier responses to determine appropriate acquisition methods and contract terms, including whether the solicitation will exceed the $2.5 million threshold requiring Certified Cost or Pricing Data.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is limited to three approved manufacturers: ATECH INC (Part Number AD-2331325-1), CURTISS-WRIGHT FLOW CONTROL SERVICE (Part Number 52D10418-1), and TACTAIR FLUID CONTROLS INC (Part Number 5815). The government does not possess complete, unrestricted technical data for this item, which is why the procurement is restricted to approved sources under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The estimated procurement involves 199 units, though the total contract value has not been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. Suppliers are expected to address key cost drivers such as materials (steel, rubber, oil, and plastics), indicate their capacity to accept FOB Origin pricing terms, and confirm their ability to perform first article testing and production lot testing if required. The applicable small business threshold for this NAICS code is 750 employees.
