About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure a specialized aircraft engine bearing support for the F100 engine, with a specific NSN of 2840-01-383-7771. The pre-solicitation notice indicates the government intends to solicit this contract with a limited number of sources under FAR 6.302, with Raytheon Technologies Corporation currently identified as the only known source capable of meeting requirements. Qualification requirements will apply to the contract award, and interested offerors are encouraged to submit Source Approval Requests (SARs) as soon as possible. The estimated solicitation will be issued on February 5, 2025, with responses due by March 5, 2025. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation, and only written or faxed requests will be accepted, with questions directed to Wannie DeBouse at the provided contact information.

The procurement is not set aside for any specific category of business, and the best estimated quantity is one unit with a requested delivery scheduled 264 days after receipt of order. The contract involves a support, bearing, and air component for an aircraft engine, with export control considerations applicable. Raytheon Technologies Corporation (CAGE code 52661) is currently the primary potential contractor, though the government remains open to other qualified sources. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear contractor concerns during the proposal development phase, available at (405) 855-3556. The solicitation will be available for download on beta.sam.gov, and while the government is not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, interested parties have 15 days to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item.
