About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research for a metallic aircraft seal with National Stock Number 2840-00-931-5759, currently manufactured by Eaton Corp. under part number 5045T99P03. The government seeks potential sources capable of manufacturing the seal, which involves comprehensive production responsibilities including component part procurement, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Potential contractors must demonstrate the ability to manage supply chain logistics, forecast production requirements, address manufacturing source challenges, and handle long-lead time parts procurement. The evaluation will assess vendors' capabilities to provide services consistent with the described scope, apply corporate financial and technical resources, implement effective project management, and meet rigorous performance standards. Interested parties must submit their capability responses via email to Renee Griffin by February 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate any specific set-aside designations for the contract. The estimated annual quantity for the metallic aircraft seal is 2,842 units, classified under NAICS code 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. This sources sought notice is explicitly not for the current procurement cycle, but rather to identify and qualify potential vendors for future competitive bidding. The government emphasizes that this is a voluntary market research effort, and participants will incur no financial responsibility for submission. While no specific award value is mentioned, the comprehensive manufacturing and logistics requirements suggest a potentially significant contract opportunity for qualified vendors with robust manufacturing and supply chain management capabilities.
