Notice text

The Bureau of Land Management, Colorado State Office, is soliciting for offers for the following project: San Miguel Stabilization. The project consists of furnishing labor, equipment, supplies, and materials to stabilize a section of the San Miguel River. The channel targeted for treatment will need to be shaped to enlarge the cross sectional area and reduce the amplitude of existing river meander. The Contractor shall excavate two mid-channel bars and one point bar totalling approximately 1,800 cubic yards. The Contractor is also responsible for grading along the channel bed to create a more consistent channel slope. The Government will provide channel cross sections and longitudinal slope dimensions from the most current survey taken. To stabilize the San Miguel channel, the Contractor shall be responsible for construction of eight to ten J-hook vanes two cross vaned and approximately 300 feet of bank riprap using Government-provided rock. The contractor shall also plant willow clumps along the bank where the fill material is placed and other bank destabilization has occurred due to construction.

The project is located on the San Miguel River, approximately 1.5 miles downstream of the confluence of the San Miguel River and Leopard Creek, near Placerville, Colorado. The solicitation for this project will be available on our web site http://ideasec.nbc.gov through 9/11/2008. Prospective bidders are encouraged to register or update their registration in ccr.gov, and to update their representations and certifications on "orca" located in ccr.gov. This is a total small business set-aside and the government estimate is below $100,000.00. For further information contact Michele Derfler, Contracting Officer, at (970)244-3175.
