About this opportunity
The US Coast Guard is soliciting proposals for the replacement of an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) at Building 22 of the Coast Guard Base in Los Angeles Long Beach. The project requires a contractor to remove and replace an existing Cummins Onan OT 225 ATS rated at 225 Amps and 480 Volts with a new UL-listed ATS that matches the same specifications and seamlessly integrates with the standby Cummins Onan model OT225 emergency generator. The replacement ATS must be capable of monitoring both power sources, signaling generator set startup, automatically transferring power, and returning the load to the primary power source once stable utility power is available. The solicitation requires a 12-month warranty and a disposal plan for the old equipment, with the entire project to be completed within 30 days of award. This procurement will be evaluated using lowest-price, technically acceptable criteria, with proposals due by July 8, 2025.
This solicitation does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all eligible contractors. The scope of work encompasses comprehensive testing, installation, and documentation requirements, including pre-installation verification, safe removal and disposal of existing equipment, functional testing under simulated power failure conditions, and operational training for maintenance personnel. Contractors must follow strict security protocols, obtain base access clearance, and adhere to OSHA safety standards throughout the project. The work will be performed at the US Coast Guard facility in San Pedro, California, with contractors required to coordinate closely with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). While specific award values are not disclosed in the solicitation, the project involves critical electrical infrastructure replacement that must meet stringent technical specifications and security requirements.
