About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center has issued a Justification and Approval (J&A) for a sole-source contract with PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc. for training simulation systems support for the E-3G AWACS Block 40/45 Mission Crew Training Set (MCTS) and E-7A Wedgetail Distributed Operational Mission Simulator (DOMS). The contract, valued between $15M-$100M, will run for four years from August 2024 to July 2028, with a one-year base period and three one-year option periods. PLEXSYS was selected as the sole-source contractor due to its unique proprietary software and hardware components critical to the simulator systems, which include ASCOT, SPI, Launch Control, and VADAAR software. Market research conducted through an RFI confirmed that no other vendor could provide the required services without substantial cost duplication (estimated at $174.5M for a new system) and potential mission training disruptions. The contract will cover system operations, maintenance, hardware/software engineering support, active Diminishing Manufacturing Sources management, and updates for mission crew simulators supporting Combat Air Forces training worldwide.
