Amendment 0003: The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions. All other terms remain unchanged:

Question 1: Do you have drawings of the room, showing dimensions, current camera locations, and how the cables are routed?
Answer 1: NIST does not have such a drawing.

Question 2: Do the cables have to be routed through any existing cable trays/conduit?
Answer 2: Cables do need to be routed along an existing cable tray.

Question 3: Are there existing penetrations for the cables to be routed through to the control room?
Answer 3: There are existing penetrations for cables on both the experiment end and the control room end.

Question 4: Are there existing connectors that have to be used or can we replace the current connectors?
Answer 4: There are no existing connectors - everything needed to run the new system should be provided by the supplier.

Question 5: If we can replace, size can the connectors be?
Answer 5: There are no particular size constraints. The entire route for the cables is greater than 4" by 4" and most (maybe all) of it is simply open on top.

Question 6: Length of cables?
Answer 6: The distance between the cameras and the control room is 35 m to 40 m

Question 7: How will the cameras be mounted?
Answer 7: Cameras will be bolted or otherwise connected to an existing frame/scaffolding on the wall

Question 8: Are there existing mounts that the cameras will have to attach to?
Answer 8: There are not specific mounts, but the room has an existing frame/scaffolding on the wall that the cameras will need to be mounted to

Question 9: Does the room have ambient lighting?
Answer 9: Yes, although it is typically turned off when unoccupied (i.e. while the source is in use)

Question 10: Expected temperature range?
Answer 10: Normal room temperature (~25 C)

Question 11: Would 30x optical zoom acceptable?
Answer 11: yes

Question 12: Are there any protocol requirements for the remote viewing and control of the cameras, i.e. via Ethernet, or Pelco, etc.?
Answer 12: NIST does not think so and just need to be able to view and control the cameras from the control room and also from a remote computer (in an office, for example)

Question 13: Do you have drawings of the control room, showing dimensions and where the control station components are to be installed or located?
Answer 13: No, but space is not an issue. Table-top/desk space, wall space, and floor space are all available

Question 14: Are there existing enclosures/console that the camera control units need to be installed in? If no, what is the available space for the control station?
Answer 14: No. No particular space constraints - multiple locations are available in the control room with a minimum space of 4' wide, 2' deep, unconstrained height.

Question 15: Are there any special training and/or access requirements for our personnel to go onsite and install the camera system? If yes, what is the estimated number of days to complete any site-specific training, etc.?
Answer 15: There is no special training required for access to the building or room for installation purposes, other than general NIST access and escort by myself or colleagues. I assume you can advise on any general NIST access requirements.

Answer 1. Distance from camera back to local viewing area/control room shall be approximately 35 m to 40 m.

Questions 2. Is reliable AC power available or should we include power conditioning and regulating equipment.
Answer 2. Reliable AC power is available

Questions 3. How important is the remote IP control (over network)? We can easily go all IP or Analog local and IP for remote access.
Answer 3. Analog local control, with remote IP access is and all IP control is acceptable.
