About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security Office of Procurement Operations is seeking to procure armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at various locations throughout Alaska. This is a sole source extension of an existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, with the extension period running for up to two months beginning February 1, 2026. The procurement is being conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which permits sole source acquisition when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The government intends to continue critical PSO services while allowing time for placement of a new contract to take over these essential operations. No competitive proposals will be solicited, and no Request for Proposal (RFP) will be made available, as a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has already been posted to Sam.Gov.
This procurement carries no small business set-aside designation. The current contractor is CDA dba MaxSent, located at 185 Admiral Cochrane Drive, Suite 220, Annapolis, Maryland 21401, which holds the existing contract number 70RFPW20DWA000001. The applicable NAICS code is 561612 (Security Guards and Patrol Services) with a small business size standard of $29 million, while the PSC category is S206 (Housekeeping-Guard). Specific award values and detailed budget ranges are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The extension period is limited to two months, serving as a bridge mechanism to ensure continuity of critical security operations while the new contract procurement process is completed.
