Questions and Answers

0008 Off site classroom training for two key operators.

Contractor does not currently offer this, however we are more than happy to accommodate multiple onsite trainings if more training is desired. Will this be sufficient?

This is sufficient as long as the states this in writing.

0010 Extended warranty of two years.

Contractor does not currently offer extended warranties per our standard warranty which is 15 months after acceptance, but does provide service contracts after the first year of warranty has expired.

A service contract for two years is required. The solicitation has been amended to include two option years for service and has removed the extended warranty. Please see revised solicitation to include two options years of service and clause 52.217-9 Option to extend the term of the contract (MAR 2000) has been added.

Characterization of hazardous waste - The Contractor shall provide a statement and description of the characteristics of the hazardous waste produced as a byproduct of the instrument operations that addresses the elements and criteria listed in the Code of Federal Regulations Title 40 "Protection of the Environment" Part 261 et al. The description shall address the following:

2.5.1.1 Waste toxicity (Reference 40CFR261.11 and 40CFR261.24)

2.5.1.2 Waste ignitability (Reference 40cfr261.21)

2.5.1.3 Waste corrosivity (Reference 40CFR261.22)

2.5.1.4 Waste reactivity (Reference 40CFR261.23)

2.5.1.5 Hazardous waste from non-specific sources (F-listed) Reference 40CFR261.31)

2.5.1.6 Discarded commercial products (acutely toxic or P-listed and toxic or U-listed) (Reference

40CFR261.33)

Can you please clarify what exactly you are looking for in reference to the above statement? Typically we would just provide the MSDS for all associated reagents for the Spectrometer.

This is standard language we are required to put in our contracts. A Safety Data Sheet is acceptable plus the contractor must explain the proper disposal for any waste product.
