Point Marion Lock and Dam Sanitary Sewage System Replacement Synopsis

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement to replace the Sanitary Sewage System at the Point Marion Lock and Dam, Monongahela River, Dilliner, Greene County, Pennsylvania. The general description of the work is as follows:

The overall contract scope of work requires the contractor to coordinate all features and requirements for replacing the existing sewage sand mound system with a sewage holding tank, precast concrete pump station and valve vault. This project consists of pumping and disposal of the existing sewage, removal of existing manhole No.2, one septic tank and partial demolition of two septic tanks and pump station. The system will be replaced with a new manhole No. 2, duplex grinder pump station, valve vault and 2000 gallon sewage holding tank. The existing sewer lines will be reconnected to the new manhole. The remaining portions of the septic tanks and pump station will be filled with compacted stone to provide support for the new valve vault and sewage holding tank. A frost free hydrant will be provided to the site for maintenance on the system. A new electrical feeder will be provided for the new pump station. Existing chain link fencing enclosure will be replaced, and the crushed aggregate surface treatment area will be replaced and expanded. Erosion controls will be provided for the work areas. The work shall be completed within 180 calendar days after written Notice to Proceed.
