About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing hydraulic pistons (NSN 1650-01-286-5223). This pre-solicitation notice seeks parties with the resources and capabilities to support new manufacture of this aircraft component, including procurement of component parts, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Prospective vendors must demonstrate capacity to manage supply chain operations, logistics planning, forecasting, long-lead time parts procurement, and mitigation of diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages. The government will evaluate market information to assess potential suppliers' ability to provide services consistent with the scope and scale of the requirement, secure necessary corporate financial and human capital resources, and implement a successful project management plan. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 5, 2026, with a response deadline of February 10, 2026; however, interested parties should note that this is not a formal solicitation and submission of capability information is entirely voluntary.
This market research is designated for no set-aside, and the current manufacturer of record is Hydro-Aire Aerospace Corp. (CAGE 81982, part number 86616). The estimated annual quantity requirement is 80 units, providing potential vendors with a baseline understanding of anticipated production volumes. No specific award value or budget range is provided in this pre-solicitation notice. It is important to note that this request for capability information is intended to identify and pre-qualify vendors for future competition on the next buy rather than the current procurement action. The applicable NAICS code is 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing), and the product service code is 1650 (Aircraft Hydraulic, Vacuum, and De-Icing System Components). The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred by potential sources in responding to this market survey.
