About this opportunity
The Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking proposals to improve and enhance the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) and LLVM Compiler Infrastructure to support the latest versions of programming languages (C, C++, Fortran) and accelerator programming languages (OpenACC, OpenMP) for DOE users, particularly on GPU platforms. The key objectives include extending the OpenMP implementation in GCC, implementing specific Fortran 2023 features, and improving the performance of the GCC compiler using OpenMP and OpenACC offloading. The work is expected to be completed as quickly as reasonably possible, with specific deadlines defined for certain tasks. The deliverables will be in the form of changes and additions to the appropriate compiler suites, with a preference for upstream delivery to the open-source repositories.
This opportunity is not set-aside for any specific business designations. The place of performance is Oak Ridge, TN. No incumbent contractors or potential award values were provided in the solicitation notice. The NAICS code is 541511 - Custom Computer Programming Services, and the PSC is AJ15 - General Science & Technology R&D Svcs. Proposals are due by June 21, 2024.
Notice text
The primary purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to improve and enhance these compiler implementations to support the latest versions of the various base language (C, C++, Fortran) and accelerator programming languages (OpenACC, OpenMP) to the latest versions of the standards, so that the compilers meet the needs of DOE users, including suitable performance, particularly on the GPU platforms of interest to DOE users.
