About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research for the procurement of a Dome Nut (NSN 1560-01-131-0661) currently manufactured by Shaw Development LLC. The government seeks potential sources capable of manufacturing and supplying approximately 2,400 units annually, with comprehensive responsibilities including component part procurement, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Potential vendors must demonstrate the ability to manage supply chain logistics, forecast production requirements, address manufacturing source challenges, and handle long-lead time parts procurement. The market research aims to evaluate vendors' capacity to provide services consistent with the described scope, secure appropriate corporate resources, and implement effective project management strategies. Interested parties are invited to submit responses via email to Renee Griffin by June 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
This pre-solicitation notice is not a set-aside contract and does not represent a current procurement opportunity, but rather a mechanism to identify and qualify vendors for future competitive bidding. The NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing has been assigned to this procurement. While no specific award value is mentioned, the government will evaluate potential vendors' financial, human capital, and technical resources to ensure they can successfully perform the contract requirements. The current manufacturer, Shaw Development LLC (CAGE 59647), holds the existing part number 79-1430 for the dome nut. Vendors should note that this is a voluntary information-gathering process, and the government assumes no financial responsibility for response preparation costs. The ultimate goal is to establish a pool of qualified vendors who can compete for the next procurement cycle of this critical aircraft component.
