About this opportunity

The Naval Air Systems Command's Commander Fleet Readiness Centers Procurement Group announced on September 18, 2026, its intent to sole-source a purchase order to Gentex Corporation for oxygen mask, regulator, helmet, and communications equipment (PN G006-2300-06) supporting the KC-130J Program at Fleet Readiness Center East in Cherry Point, North Carolina. The sole-source justification rests on Gentex's exclusive manufacturing and proprietary ownership of the design and technical data; the government states no other source possesses the requisite technical expertise and documentation to provide the required common support equipment.

Gentex Corporation, located in Rancho Cucamonga, California (CAGE Code 60240), holds all proprietary rights and is not licensing or selling rights to the design. The government reserves the right to conduct a competitive procurement based on capability statements received; interested sources may submit capability statements within three calendar days of the notice publication date to be considered for evaluation. The notice is not a request for competitive quotes, and any government decision to abandon the sole-source approach remains solely discretionary. Melinda Bowen serves as the contracting point of contact (melinda.a.bowen.civ@us.navy.mil).
