The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration's, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) has a requirement for a contractor to provide all material, labor, transportation, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to provide and install new windows at Zero Deck in several barracks located at the USMMA, 300 Steamboat Road, Kings Point, NY 11024 (Nassau County).
This is an official Invitation for Bid (IFB) set-aside for small business concerns only. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 236220 (Addition, alteration and renovation, commercial and institutional building); The Business Size Standard is $36,500,000.00 in average annual receipts for the last three years.
In accordance with FAR 36.204, the magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract.
Period of Performance: Work is to be completed within 90 days after Notice-to-Proceed (NTP) is issued to the awardee.
All vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (www.SAM.gov) with an "active" profile status in order for their bid to be accepted.
As authorized by FAR 5.102, solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium and MARAD will provide no hard copies.

This is a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR 36.213-2 announcement for the Department of Transportation/Maritime Administration. The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) plans to issue a solicitation for a contractor to provide all material, labor, transportation, tools, equipment and supervision necessary to provide and install new windows at Zero Deck in several barracks located at the USMMA, 300 Steamboat Road, Kings Point, NY 11024 (Nassau County).
The work encompasses the demolition and disposal of 94 existing windows, plywood, frames, molding, and associated material and the furnishing and installation of 94 new windows, plywood, frames, molding, and associated material.
Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on this Federal Business Opportunities website within 15 days after this synopsis notice is posted.
This announcement is a Total Small Business set-aside.
