About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) is procuring 68 units of Generator APU Aircraft components (NSN 7RH 1680 014806542 BL, Part Number 70550-85901-104) for repair and modification purposes on a sole source basis. The primary requirement is the acquisition of these aircraft generator auxiliary power unit components with delivery on a freight on board (FOB) origin basis. NAVSUP intends to solicit Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (CAGE Code 78286), the Original Equipment Manufacturer, as the sole source due to its exclusive possession of proprietary data and repair support capabilities. The Government does not own the technical data or manufacturing rights necessary to source this component from alternative suppliers. While evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the Government will consider capability statements, proposals, and quotations from any responsible sources within the 45-day response period following this notice. The due date for responses to this pre-solicitation notice is March 17, 2026.

This procurement carries no set-aside designations and anticipates award to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation as the sole source contractor and incumbent supplier. The acquisition of 68 units represents the total quantity requirement, with specific pricing and award values not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 13 procedures rather than commercial item acquisition policies under FAR Part 12, despite market research indicating this approach. Any firm not already approved as a manufacturer of this material must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR), though the Government will not delay procurement to accommodate SAR approval timelines. The NAICS code 336413 and Federal Supply Class 1680 classify this procurement within miscellaneous aircraft accessories and components.
