About this opportunity
The National Park Service (NPS) Midwest Region is conducting a market survey to assess contractor capabilities for a fire and intrusion alarm system replacement project at Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park. The project requires removing existing alarm systems from five buildings and installing new wireless fire and intrusion alarm systems, with anticipated work beginning in June 2025. Interested contractors must be registered as a small business in the System for Award Management (SAM) under NAICS code 238210, which has a small business size standard of $19.0M. Contractors are required to submit a market research sources sought survey via email to jarrod_brown@nps.gov by 1200 EST on March 28, 2025, including reference number 140P6425B0009 in the subject line. The NPS will use the submitted information to determine the acquisition strategy and identify potential contractors capable of performing the work.
The project is not set aside for any specific socio-economic category, though small businesses are preferred. The anticipated construction budget ranges between $250,000 and $500,000, positioning this as a moderate-sized project for electrical and alarm system contractors. Contractors are advised to carefully consider their construction bonding capacities when responding to the market survey. While this is currently a market research initiative, any future solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov and will require separate responses from interested firms. The NPS emphasizes that this market survey does not constitute a commitment to issue a formal solicitation, and all costs associated with providing information are the responsibility of the participating firms. Interested contractors should prepare detailed capability statements that demonstrate their technical expertise in fire and intrusion alarm system installation and removal.
