Update #3 · Latest ·

Added: Mar 20, 2018 2:03 pm The closing date is hereby extended until 04:00 P.M. on 03/27/2018. A question was asked by a vendor and the question and answer are provided below:

Q.Cannot get the specified size rectangle tubing for the Brace for WQM.
Drawings call out a 316 Stainless Steel Rectangle Tube that is 1 inch by 1-1/2 inch with an 11 gauge wall thickness (.120")

We are able to get the following sizes;
1 inch by 1 inch 316 Stainless Steel Tube with 11 gauge wall thickness (.120")
1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch316 Stainless Steel Tube with 11 gauge wall thickness (.120") 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch 316 Stainless Steel Tube with 11 gauge wall thickness (.120")

We can get the 1 inch by 1-1/2 inch, as called out in the drawings, in 304 Stainless Steel. 304 Stainless is a less corrosion resistant alloy when compared to 316 Stainless.

A. The rectangle tubing needs to have outside dimensions 1''x1-1/2'' and a wall thickness of 0.12'' otherwise the current design will not function. It also needs to be 316 stainless steel in order to maintain consistency of alloys and prevent corrosion. The tubing was selected with these specifications because it is widely available from the government performing online searches. Attached is a link as an example of where this component can be found.
