About this opportunity
The Boise VA Medical Center Research Services is seeking a vendor to provide preventative maintenance and repair services for two Eppendorf epMotion automated pipetting systems through this pre-solicitation notice. The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 requires these services to maintain instruments originally used for high-throughput screening of Covid-19 samples. The manufacturer mandates that all services must be provided by authorized factory-certified Eppendorf trained staff, making this a specialized technical requirement. The procurement seeks annual preventative maintenance including software/firmware updates, priority service calls, and 100% coverage for spare parts, labor, and travel on repairs. Services must be conducted during standard work hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Interested vendors must respond via email by July 1, 2025, at 12:00 PST and must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).
The VA is mandated to first consider a total set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), with potential for alternate set-aside or full and open competition if insufficient qualified responses are received. The solicitation does not identify any current incumbents, though the instruments were previously covered under Eppendorf PremiumCare Service Agreements after their purchase warranty expired. The contract period of performance spans one year from September 17, 2025, through September 16, 2026. The equipment is housed in building #117, room 221 at the Boise VAMC, and the procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. No specific contract value or budget range has been disclosed in this sources sought notice. Vendors must provide business size information as part of their response to determine appropriate set-aside considerations.
