Added: May 19, 2016 12:32 pm This is notice that the Department of Veteran Affairs, Jack C. Montgomery Medical Center is seeking to purchase a new Endoscope Video Image Processing System.



Background Information

The current, existing, laparoscopic tower systems in the Operating Room are all due for replacement or are at end of life. These systems are utilized by all of the services that utilize the Operating Suite. This is a critical part of what is offered at this medical facility. The SPIES system, or equal will replace what is currently in place. It must also fully integrate with the existing Image 1 HD camera heads with only an adaptor which means that all the camera heads in use can be maintained. Must also be compatible with the ZEROWIRE already in place.





PRODUCT REQUESTED BRAND NAME, OR EQUAL OF THE MANUFACTURER, KARL STORZ, PRODUCT NAME, IMAGE 1S-HE-X-KT, (formerly known as IMAGE1 SPIES), OR EQUAL.



MINIMUM SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS FOR TECHNICALLY ACCEPTABLE, BRAND NAME OR EQUAL



" Minimum requirement of automatic identification of dark areas with brightening of said areas without loss of time (proprietary technology: CLARA)

" Minimum requirement of enhancement of tissue differences through intensification of color contrast levels (proprietary technology: Chroma)

" Minimum requirement of a Menu system that allows for individual tailoring of user interface and system settings

" Minimum requirement of the light source being controlled by the visualization of the camera head which is then communicated to the light source and adjusted.

" Minimum requirement of heat is minimized through adjusted light levels

" Minimum of a potential in the future for fluorescent imaging

" Minimum requirement of fully compatible with existing image 1 HD camera heads and request upgraded camera heads

" Minimum requirement fully compatible with existing STORZ telescopes (Hopkins II rigid telescopes-general and urology).

" Minimum requirement fully compatible with existing arthroscopes (Smith & Nephew)

" Minimum requirement must be compatible with and have AIDA system designed for facilitating connection with PACS (PACS is a system that marries with the AIDA to send the pictures taken during procedurs to the electronic radiology storage system and on to the Electronic Health Record.).

" Minimum requirements must Fit in the existing laparoscopic towers (18" across by 14" deep by 5" high).



Contractor Requirements

Delivery requested within 90 days of receipt of award. Provision of user manuals electronically to both surgery and biomedical. On site assistance with installation of all equipment and assistance with connection of AIDA to PACS. Training of surgery and biomed staff on new equipment. Provide service manual to BioMed.
