About this opportunity
This Special Notice announces the United States Special Operations Command's intent to award a sole source contract to Myco Trailers, LLC. The Command seeks to procure two Dry Combat Submersible Transporter Systems to provide a rapid, versatile, and cost-effective transport mechanism for the Dry Combat Submersible vehicle by land, air, and sea.
The Special Notice provides that the Command intends to negotiate a contract with Myco Trailers, LLC on a sole source basis. Interested parties shall direct any questions to the Contracting Officer by September 25, 2021. The objective is for Myco Trailers, LLC to manufacture and test two production transporter systems matching the specifications of the prototype system. This will support the increased size and weight of the Dry Combat Submersible vehicle and improved offloading options at airports. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is that only one responsible source will satisfy the agency's requirements without substantial cost duplication or unacceptable delays.

USSOCOM seeks a rapid, versatile, and cost-effective transport mechanism for the Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) which can deliver the DCS over land, air, and sea. The original DCS design supported transportation within a 40-foot High Cube Military Van (MILVAN), on a Low Boy (low bed), or standard flatbed-type trailer. Several fact-of-life changes, including an increase in size and weight of the vehicle, along with associated airport offloading options have driven the need for a design-for-purpose transporter to meet the transportability requirements for all realistic operational scenarios. This effort is to provide USSOCOM with two (2) production DCS Transporter Systems manufactured and tested to the exact specifications as DSC Transporter Prototype #1.
