About this opportunity

NASA's Shared Services Center announced on August 27, 2026, a sole-source procurement for cove base removals at NASA Ames Research Center, with capability statements due by September 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Central Standard Time. The agency intends to award a sole-source contract to Venezia Construction, LLC under FAR 12.102(a), citing the contractor's unique project-specific knowledge of building N239 and its asbestos challenges developed through prior on-site work. The justification for sole source includes Venezia's pre-existing facility familiarity, experience with NASA processes, and established on-site access that eliminates badging and escort requirements, reducing schedule and technical risk that would result from contractor changeover. Performance spans August 17, 2026, through December 31, 2026, and covers removal of cove bases and associated mastic from the first, second, and third floors of building N239. Interested organizations may submit written capability statements and qualifications to Kimberlynn Lancaster (Kimberlynn.m.lancaster@nasa.gov) for evaluation solely to determine whether to conduct this effort competitively; the government reserves discretion to decide whether to compete based on responses. Quotes will not be accepted or evaluated. NAICS code 236220 applies. NASA FAR Supplement Clause 1852.215-84 (Ombudsman) is applicable, with the Center Ombudsman listed at the NASA Procurement website.
