Update #8 ·

This is an amendment to the Request for Quotations for a construction project to provide ABA compliant improvements to the Hoh and Mora campgrounds within Olympic National Park (OLYM), Washington (Clallam County). This amendment is necessary to provide additional questions/answers, to extend the date for final questions, and to extend the response date.
Additional Q & A as follows:
QUESTION #17: Is there a NPS site that we could dump 1-2 dump trucks of woody debris that will need to be removed?
ANSWER #17: Woody debris may be dumped at our yard - it is approximately 2 miles from the Mora campground.
QUESTION #18: Is there a NPS site that we could dump extra fill dirt?
ANSWER #18: Fill dirt may be staged in the yard 2 miles from the Mora campground, but any excess will need to be removed at the end of the project.
QUESTION #19: Sheet 13 of 24 on the plans have the diagonal cross hatch called out as both concrete paving and asphalt paving. Is the intent of the diagonal hatch for paving to be asphalt and the checkered hatch for paving to be concrete? Or, is it all supposed to be concrete?
ANSWER #19: The reference to "Asphalt Paving" on drawing sheets 13, 14, and 15 is incorrect. It was accidentally carried over from drawing sheet 12, showing the existing conditions. It should be concrete, as described on drawing sheet 13.
The period for submitting final questions is extended from 8/10/18 to 8/15/18. Submit questions to Phaedra Fuller, Contracting Officer at email address Phaedra_Fuller@nps.gov. Submit your final questions by 2pm (PST) on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Update #6 ·

This is an amendment to the Request for Quotations for a construction project to provide ABA compliant improvements to the Hoh and Mora campgrounds within Olympic National Park (OLYM), Washington (Clallam County). This amendment is necessary to extend the response date and revise the project period of performance.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE. Originally, the project period of performance stated the government anticipated the contractor being able to start the week of September 3rd 2018 with completion by November 30, 2018. The original intent was to have the entire project completed within a few months during Fall 2018. Based on feedback received, the government accepts that the awarded contractor may only be able to complete part of the work in Fall 2018, and then will need to come back and finish all remaining work in Spring 2019. The priority is to have both foundations completed by November 30, 2018. OLYM will be constructing the new restroom buildings on top of the foundations with its own day labor crews in Fall 2018/Winter 2019. Contractor will be required to complete at least the foundation work by November 30, 2018 at both campgrounds. For all other work, as specified, the contractor will have additional time, through May 17, 2019. The May 17th completion date shall factor COR inspections, any re-work, and any punch list work, so that the entire project is 100% complete by May 17, 2019, in time for Memorial Day Weekend 2019.
RESPONSE DATE is changed from 4:30pm (PST) on August 8, 2018 to 4:30pm (PST) on August 15, 2018. QUOTES ARE DUE BY 4:30PM (PST) ON AUGUST 15, 2018.
Submit questions to Phaedra Fuller, Contracting Officer at email address Phaedra_Fuller@nps.gov. Final questions due by 2pm (PST) on August 10, 2018.

SITE VISIT. An organized site visit has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11am (PST). Interested contractors shall meet at the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center, 18113 Upper Hoh Road, Forks, WA 98331. The visitor center is approx. 30 miles from Forks, WA. The group will meet at the front entrance area of the Hoh Visitor Center, and then take a short walk to the Hoh Campground. The second location of work, the Mora Campground, requires approximately an hour's drive, and the secondary site walk will occur at the Mora Campground. Park at the Mora Amphitheater parking area. Plan at least 30 minutes up to an hour at each site walk. Weather can change in summer months, so be prepared for inclement weather, and we always encourage packing your own water and sunscreen. The government does not expect work to begin in August 2018, however, if it can be scheduled to start in August that would be beneficial for optimum weather late summer on the Olympic Peninsula. Ideally, work would start the week of August 20th or 27th, but if that's not possible, the government would like work to start as soon as possible after the Labor Day holiday, the week of September 3rd.
