About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research through a combined Request for Information and Synopsis to identify potential sources for a Transmitter Subassembly (NSN 5840-01-617-0146, P/N 9801-3550-1 / 62704-1). This pre-solicitation notice aims to determine whether commercial items or non-developmental items are available to meet the agency's requirements, improve small business access to acquisition information, and enhance overall competition. The primary contact for interested parties is Johnny Wakefield, reachable at 385-591-3547 or johnny.wakefield.2@us.af.mil. The Government emphasizes that this notice is not a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid and does not constitute a commitment to contract or obligation to pay for any information solicited. The deadline for responses is January 14, 2026, providing interested parties approximately two weeks to submit relevant information regarding their capabilities.
This procurement is not designated as a small business set-aside, and the Government anticipates that supplies are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources due to specialized requirements. DRS Training and Control Systems and Applied Systems Engineering Inc. are identified as potential firms for subcontracting opportunities related to this procurement. The estimated requirement is for 3 units with an estimated delivery schedule of 14 months after order receipt, destined for location SW3215. While the Government does not currently plan to utilize commercial item acquisition policies outlined in Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, interested parties may still propose commercial solutions to the contracting officer if they believe their offering satisfies the stated requirements.
