About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation has issued a combined Request for Information and Synopsis for the procurement of gas turbine engines under solicitation number SPRHA1-25-R-1112. The agency is seeking three units of ENGINE, GAS TURBINE with NSN 2835-01-597-9583 and part number 384238-8, classified under NAICS code 333611 (Turbine and Turbine Generator Set Units Manufacturing). This pre-solicitation notice serves multiple purposes including conducting market research to identify capable sources, determining availability of commercial or non-developmental items, improving small business access to acquisition information, and enhancing competition opportunities. The government has indicated that supplies are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources due to proprietary data rights limitations, making it uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the components. Interested parties must respond by October 29, 2025, and should contact Johnny Wakefield at johnny.wakefield.2@us.af.mil for additional information.

This procurement is not expected to be set-aside for small businesses, indicating it will likely be competed among all eligible contractors regardless of size. The solicitation does not identify any current incumbents or contractors, nor does it specify award values or budget ranges for this requirement. The estimated quantity is three engines with an estimated delivery schedule of 14 months after receipt of order, though the overall contract duration remains to be determined. The destination is listed as Foreign Military Sales (FMS), suggesting these engines will support international defense partnerships. The contracting office is located at DLA Aviation, 6051 Gum Lane, Hill AFB, Utah, with an archive date of October 29, 2026, providing a full year window for potential future reference to this procurement action.
