Notice text
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Sciences intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price maintenance agreement contract to Genevac Inc, 815 State Route 208, Gardiner, NY 12525. This contract will be for a base year of 12 months with 3 option years of 12 months each.
The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement.
The Division of Laboratory Sciences uses the Genevac centrifugal parallel evaporators to accomplish its public health mission. These evaporators are used in specialized research projects to concentrate samples for the studies of chronic disease. As initial warranties expire for purchased instruments, they need to be covered by a maintenance agreement, which provides preventive maintenance and required services to ensure that the instruments are maintained in optimal operating condition and are available to perform required analyses.
Genevac is the sole manufacturer of the Genevac instruments and the only company that is capable of offering trained and certified technical and scientific staff with field service engineers trained on the Genevac equipment. Additionally, Genevac has experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and completing preventive maintenance practices for the equipment. As the sole developer of the Genevac evaporators, Genevac has the ability to assist the CDC with any function in Genevac products, including maintenance and necessary and calibration of instruments.
The equipment to be covered in the base year is included as an attachment to the FedBiz notice.
No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Genevac. Genevac is the only source available to provide this service that meets mission critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. All responses must be sent in writing to Ms. Sherrie A. Blackmon via email to kuj1@cdc.gov using solicitation number 2017-N-16440 in the subject line, no later than 12:00pm Eastern Time, July 5, 2014.
