Description:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Solicitation for the concrete repairs at the Barre Falls Dam Spillway in Hubbardston, MA. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238110. The project is planned to be issued in or about May 2017. The project is expected to take approximately 2 to 3 months to make the necessary repairs. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00.
The Barre Falls Dam was constructed in 1958. This project will require the repair of spalling and joints on the over 20 foot tall vertical walls of the spillway in multiple locations totaling roughly 700 square feet in area. Another approximately 120 square feet of spalling and joint repair will be required on the horizontal portion of the 55 foot wide spillway. The spillway has no flow under most operating conditions and will be dry during this construction period.
There is also a 10 foot extension to be installed to the existing two 6" scuppers under the bridge that passes over the spillway. This will likely need to be accessed from the bridge.

An additional 20 square foot of concrete repairs will be required along the east wall of the roughly 12 foot wide intake structure. The location of the repair is about 10 feet above the anticipated water level and will likely require access from the top of the access structure.

All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the New England District. Additional questions may be emailed to the Contract Specialist at julio.e.hall@usace.army.mil
