Awarded Vendors: Telephonics Corporation. Contract Award Dollar Amount: $3,354,967. Contract Award Date: 2017-04-19.

Update #4 ·

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Delivery Order (DO) under Basic Order Agreement (BOA) N68335-15-G-0037 to Telephonics Corporation, Farmingdale, NY, to procure the hardware for up to four complete ship sets and spare parts for one partial ship set of AN/APS143-C (V)3 radar systems.

Telephonics is the sole designer and manufacturer of the AN/APS-134C(V)3 RADAR and spare parts and as such is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, and data necessary to provide the assets in the most cost effective and timely manner. These AN/APS143-C (V) 3 radar systems and spare parts are essential to the aircrafts in the fleet. These AN/APS143-C (V) 3 radar systems and spare parts will ensure that each aircraft in the fleet is equipped with the same technical components necessary to carry out the mission. These AN/APS143-C (V) 3 radar systems and spare parts are deemed to be available only from one responsible source when it is likely that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. The Government does not own the technical data necessary to fulfill this requirement.

THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304(C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract.
